COME OUT & PLAY
Curated by Andrew Salgado, the LGBTQ+ themed exhibition Come Out & Play takes place at Beers London, June 18 – July 16.
Including more than 15 queer artists from Canada, the USA, Colombia, Poland, The Bahamas, Germany, Spain, the UK, and China, Come Out & Play presents a rich collection of works that emanate freedom, independence, and also a sense of community. A world of riotous colors welcomes us into an alive space, where bodies intertwine, full of exploration and self-discovery, sensuality, audacity, and boldness. The use of acrylic, collage, silk, oil, paper, linen, canvas, mixed media... creates a multifaceted space where the queer culture is celebrated but normalized, as something that can only be perceived as natural but with striking beauty. This exhibition owns a unique playfulness, embracing the struggles of the LGBTQ+ collective with conviction, optimism, and stout-heartedness.
A universe where we find ourselves surrounded by depictions of love. In all its forms, love as something that has no boundaries, no rules, no explanations. Because no matter what some may still think:
